Father Carl Schmitt to Present Mass at NCFL Grand National Tournament
On Saturday, May 24th, you have the honor and privilege of attending Mass presided by Father Carl Schmitt. Fr. Carl is the Associate Pastor at St. Raphael the Archangel Parish in Oshkosh, WI. Fr. Carl is an energetic priest who relates well to people, especially teenagers. His homilies are thought provoking, interesting, and entertaining. You won’t want to miss Mass!
So, who exactly is Fr. Carl? Fr. Carl Schmitt was born and raised in Two Rivers, WI with his 10 siblings. He is a graduate of Roncalli High School in Manitowoc, WI and of St. Norbert College in DePere, WI. The priesthood is not Fr. Carl’s first vocation. He initially was a foster parent for delinquent teens. During that time, Fr. Carl cared for and nurtured a total of 14 teenagers. Feeling the call from God to help even more people, Fr. Carl decided to enter St. Meinrad Seminary and become a priest. He was ordained in May of 2005.
In addition to his regular priestly duties at St. Raphael Parish and performing sacraments, Fr. Carl oversees the Lifeteen program and Confirmation and is involved with the students of the Unified Catholic School System in Oshkosh. He is also involved in the prison ministry at the Oshkosh Correctional Facility.
In his spare time, Fr. Carl enjoys traveling, singing barbershop music, and visiting family.
